Long time coming but excited to finally present the results of my work with this spring. It was an experience I cannot fully put into words and I will never stop appreciating how kind they were and how willing to share their knowledge. Here is my first time setting type, a trade my Papa loved and learning it connected us just a little bit more. The print is inspired by a passage from Douglas Woods’ book Paddle Whispers which I was introduced to at a camp I was connected to by my Papa as well. So many important threads connecting to this print. Available on both cream and blue paper, and filled with love.

Typesetting has always been a long term goal for me, learning the process of picking and setting the type building the lock up, running it, adjusting, running it again, mor adjusting. My grandfather William McGarry dedicated his whole career to it, and from what I’ve heard he was incredibly talented. This is just the beginning of learning this trade, and learning more about my Papa in the process. Thank you again to for your willingness to share your knowledge and take the time to teach me.
