Summer camps!
Last week I got to be a guest artist in 2 of camps, one for teenagers and the other for 1-3 graders.
It’s always so fun to craft with youth - they have such inspiring ideas and open minds. We created pod-like dioramas in TROWT camp and cardboard and paper birds in Amazing Animals.

is still up in the Aquarium’s Merrill Lynch gallery, through September 5. Check out the community-inspired artwork and the visitor responses to my nature-based questions.

And the rest is up! Visit during open hours (10-6) and come to the exhibit celebration on Thursday, June 15, 6-8pm.

What’s on view:
- 12 art forms inspired by visitor responses to my monthly surveys about their experiences at the Aquarium and in the natural world
- 12 companion sculptures that incorporate their answers more literally.
- interactive cards with the survey questions and a few responses
- artwork made by summer campers and youth that visited my monthly table

Day one of installation complete! The main art pieces of Great Lakes Almanac are up on the walls . Today, the community component gets hung: kids artwork and survey question and answers. I am excited to share the project with the community!

More photos to come.

As always, THANK YOU to the Aquarium for welcoming me into the museum and for supporting this project. And thank you ti and the Minnesota State Arts Board for awarding me the Project and Creative Support grants that helped make this happen. This support is made possible in part by the voters of Minnesota thanks ti a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.

One month to go! My exhibit will be installed June 1, with a celebration on June 15, 6-8pm that is free and open to the public.

I’m excited to share the body of work that grew out of a year’s worth of engagement with Aquarium visitors. Also on view will be art made by many of the kids I met and an interactive display of the questions and responses from participants of my project.

And once again, I am super grateful to Great Lakes Aquarium, and Minnesota State Arts Board and of course, all of the participants.

Last month , my inquiry about observing tracks in the snow inspired some wonderful drawings!

I’ve kept my own eyes open while out this winter. This morning I discovered the small track out our front door, thinking maybe a wild creature visited in the night…not quite, as I’m pretty sure it was our neighbor, Hershey.

And I’m making my own tracks on the wild trails of Duluth. Get out there while we still have snow!

Last month , my inquiry about observing animal tracks inspired some great drawings! My eye’s have been open while out and about…

The paw track was found in our front yard this am. At first I got excited about wild creatures stopping by in the night…no, I am pretty sure that’s our neighbor, Hershey.
And I’ve been making my own tracks out on the wild trails of Duluth.
