Meet the Maker: Amber Nichols

Yes...I am the owner of Duluth Studio Market, but I am also an artist!

I've recently started experimenting with a new kind of artwork: driftwood and resin wall art.

I've always loved working with natural materials, and I've been having a lot of fun taking pieces of driftwood and letting their natural shapes inspire the artwork.

Some become trees.
Some become animals.
Some turn into something completely unexpected.

Then I bring in resin, color and texture to create something that is truly one of a kind.

The best part?

I don't always know what a piece is going to become when I start.

I'm still experimenting with this new collection, and these are some of the first pieces I've created.

You'll find them hanging at Duluth Studio Market along with work from more than 150 other artists.

So the next time you're in Canal Park, stop in and see what I've been creating.

And if you see something you love...you might want to grab it. There won't be another one exactly like it.

We’re excited to introduce one of the newest artists to join the Duluth Studio Market family — Jackie Scherer Photography.

If you love Lake Superior, wildlife, and beautiful moments found in the wild, you’re going to want to take a look at Jackie’s work.

Jackie has an incredible eye for capturing the character of the places and animals she photographs. From the iconic lighthouses and shoreline of Lake Superior to wildlife like moose, snowy owls and lions, her photographs range from peaceful and atmospheric to bold and captivating.

And there’s something especially fun about having her work here in Canal Park. Her Lake Superior images capture many of the views and places that make this area so special — but she also takes you far beyond the North Shore with her wildlife photography.

We’re thrilled to welcome Jackie Scherer Photography to Duluth Studio Market and can’t wait for you to discover her work.
