What an amazing opening night! I almost can’t believe the overwhelming support that came out to see the opening of the studio. A person (me) can convince themselves of all the ways something won’t work, but after last night I can’t wait to move forward and make this place thrive. My favorite part of the evening was seeing all the kiddos fearlessly jump on the wheel and give it a go!

I owe a very special thanks to Suzanne Osegueda and Anna Hinkle for having my back and providing the amazing and beautiful food. There were many a kid with chocolate covered faces and clay on their clothes as they left last night.

And my Beginning Wheel Throwing class is now FULL, and due to additional interest I am exploring opening another section for the summer. More details to come!

Tomorrow only, May 30th, the doors of WRCS will be open as we host a hole for the Dubois Chamber Of Commerce’s putt putt golf competition. While the official opening for WRCS is set for Friday, June 5th at 6:30, you can come get a sneak peak at the new gallery and clay facility. Competition runs from noon to 4:30 PM. Do we ever hope for no rain in Dubois???

Studio sneak peek! The wheel throwing room features 6 Brent wheels including 5 model C’s and one CXC for throwing BIG! Opening in 2 weeks, more details to come!

Back when I was firing my wood kiln in Nebraska, if I came across the right tree I would have it milled down instead of burning it. I always thought the best use of this wood would be for use as display for my pots. I’ve always loved the solid ‘click’ of a piece of ceramics being placed on a solid chunk of lumber. Well, it’s all coming together now!!!!!
