I finished these guys back in June before I left for my trip. I was so excited to come back home and find out that someone has offered to buy all 4 of them!! I'm so lucky to have friends who support my work and share it with others!

Just because we find passion and talent in something doesn't always make us an expert. I continually push myself to learn new things so that I can someday find my direction as an artist! I sometimes struggle because of my lack of knowledge, or my inability to sit still and focus on one thing at a time.

Over the past few weeks I've been working on a sculpture project that needed to be done with wood, which wasn't something I had much experience with. After some frustrating days I've become comfortable using saws, drills and sanders, and ended up with a piece that I'm proud of!

For years I've avoided painting with oil and acrylics because I never found the patience to learn. A few weeks ago I passed through a small town in Krabi and met this amazing artist who has her own shop. She told me sometimes she does lessons with some of the tourists she meets... So I decided to fly back there for a week and spend a few nights painting with her. The first few nights I got a little frustrated but I stuck with it and am so happy I did!! I left for this trip hoping to become inspired again and I can honestly say it's working!!

Wow... It's so encouraging to see all of the people that have liked my page over the past week! Thank you all so much for your support. This was the inspiration I needed to get busy and create some things to sell for the holidays! :)

My second Jack Skellington is complete. This was the perfect way to start the new year! Can't wait to keep the momentum going =)

Looks like I'm finally buying myself a DSLR camera today! =) I hope my model friends are ready to plan some fun shoots next year!

I'm also doing another commissioned Jack Skellington piece this week! It will be fun to get back into the swing of things.
