🎨 Calling All Artists, Crafters, and Creative Souls! 🎨

Who would be interested in attending a monthly Artist Trading Card (ATC) Swap?

We’re considering starting a monthly gathering where creative people can come together to share, trade, and talk about Artist Trading Cards. Whether you’re an experienced ATC artist or have never heard of them before, everyone would be welcome!

So, what is an Artist Trading Card?

Artist Trading Cards are miniature works of art measuring just 2.5” x 3.5” (the same size as a baseball card). They can be created using any medium—drawing, painting, collage, mixed media, stamping, paper crafts, photography, and more. The only rule is the size!

Our monthly meet-up would be a relaxed and fun environment where you could:
✨ Trade cards with other artists
✨ Share techniques and ideas
✨ See creative inspiration from others
✨ Make new friends who enjoy art and crafting
✨ Learn about Artist Trading Cards if you’re new to the hobby

Never made an ATC before? No problem! Ingk Paper Studio can bring supplies and starter materials to help you create your first cards and get you started on your ATC journey.

This would be an ongoing monthly event where we can build a local creative community one card at a time.

Would you attend? Let us know in the comments! If enough people are interested, we’ll start planning our first swap meeting.

Tag a crafty friend who might enjoy joining us! 🎨✂️📬

Good morning followers we get asked all the time how Ingk Paper Studio was formed so we wanted to share how our little business was created.

The Story of Ingk Paper Studio

Ingk Paper Studio was never part of a grand business plan. It began with a simple idea at our kitchen table shortly after our marriage.

As we prepared to send thank-you cards for the many gifts we received, we realized we wanted something different. We didn't want the typical card you could purchase from a store shelf. We wanted a card that felt personal, meaningful, and memorable—something that reflected who we were.

So, we sat down together and designed a card we would be proud to send.

What started as a single design quickly grew into more than 150 handmade thank-you cards. Somewhere between cutting paper, assembling layers, and adding those special finishing touches, we discovered something we truly loved creating together.

That unexpected project became the foundation of Ingk Paper Studio.

Several years later, our small kitchen-table idea has grown into a creative business that produces thousands of handmade cards each year. Our creations can be found online and in a variety of retail locations, including coffee shops, gift shops, bookstores, and specialty retailers.

One thing we quickly discovered was that many customers weren't purchasing our cards to send at all. Instead, they were framing them and displaying them in their homes as miniature works of art. That realization inspired our tagline:

"The Card That Is Art."

Today, that philosophy continues to guide everything we create. Each card is thoughtfully designed to be more than a greeting card—it is a keepsake, a piece of artwork, and a meaningful expression that can be enjoyed long after the occasion has passed.

As our creativity expanded, so did our product line. Greeting cards soon evolved into junk journals, custom journals, and Little Golden Book journals created from both vintage and new editions. We added miniature matchboxes, paper-crafted gifts, mixed-media creations, and a variety of unique handmade paper art.

Most recently, we have embraced the world of Artist Trading Cards (ATCs), creating and trading miniature works of art with collectors and artists around the globe. Through these exchanges, we have connected with a worldwide community of creative individuals who share our passion for art, storytelling, and connection.

At its heart, Ingk Paper Studio remains exactly what it was on day one: two people creating meaningful things by hand and sharing them with others. Every card, journal, and paper creation is made with the same spirit that inspired those very first thank-you cards around our kitchen table.

We believe that paper still matters, handmade still matters, and that a thoughtfully created piece of art can brighten someone's day in ways that digital communication never will.

Thank you for being part of our story.

Happy National Donut Day now get yourself over to Scotty's Donuts for the best donuts you’ll ever eat.

National Donut Day is celebrated on the first Friday in June each year, and its origins are much more meaningful than most people realize.

The holiday was established in 1938 by The Salvation Army in Chicago to honor the women volunteers known as the “Donut Lassies” who served soldiers during World War I.

When American troops were stationed in France in 1917, Salvation Army volunteers traveled overseas to provide comfort, encouragement, and a taste of home. Supplies were limited, and cooking facilities were scarce, so the volunteers began making donuts for the soldiers. In many cases, they fried the donuts in helmets and served them alongside coffee.

The simple act of handing out fresh donuts became a symbol of kindness and morale for homesick soldiers. The treats were so appreciated that the women became affectionately known as the “Donut Lassies” and “Donut Girls.”

More than 20 years later, during the Great Depression, The Salvation Army created National Donut Day to:

* Honor the Donut Lassies and their service.
* Raise awareness of The Salvation Army’s charitable work.
* Help support fundraising efforts for people in need.

Today, National Donut Day is celebrated with free donuts, special promotions, and community events across the United States, but its true purpose is to remember the volunteers who brought comfort and hope to soldiers during wartime.

A fun fact: it’s estimated that Salvation Army volunteers served thousands of donuts and cups of coffee each day to American troops in France, helping make the donut an enduring symbol of home and comfort.

So when you enjoy a donut on National Donut Day, you’re actually participating in a tradition that honors service, generosity, and compassion—not just a sweet treat. 🍩❤️
