Port visits and excursions…we were the odd men out here probably but none of us had much desire to get off the ship in Cozumel. Mostly bc our port time was shortened so many excursions were canceled but also bc we really wanted to take advantage of a quiet ship. We decided to use our excursion fund on a spa visit instead! Massages all around!! The spa was beautiful and the staff was excellent!! I broke my wrist at the end of may and had surgery so I asked her to please not touch it but instead she worked her magic, talked me through what is happening with the swelling and inflammation and how to help it. I left feeling so so so much better!
We did disembark at Great Stirrup Cay, which is Norwegians private island, and I’m so glad we did!! We had to take a tender from the ship to the island but it was an easy and seamless process. Once there, we checked in to obtain our clam shell for the day, grabbed some mats for the water, and jumped in!! All drinks and food are included on the island with the beverage and dining package. They also have a super cute little market area where I was able to buy my girls some souvenirs.
The white sand and crystal clear water is just gorgeous!! 🏝

So many great amenities for the young and old on board the Getaway as well! Pools, water slides, ropes course, adult only quiet area, nightclubs, dueling piano bar, game shows, themed parties, casino, shopping…
Social media offers a great way to connect with those on board your sailing. Just search your cruise with your sailing specific dates and I guarantee you’ll find a Facebook group to join. This is a great way to find out about solo traveler events, organized pub crawls and slot pulls, singles events, and the themes for the parties. We had and 80’s party and glow party on our cruise!! SO MUCH fun!!!

Last week I embarked on my first ever cruise with my best girls for 5 nights of complete bliss!! We cruised the Norwegian Getaway to Cozumel and Great Stirrup Cay. Heads up on the incoming posts highlighting the Fun times on the Getaway!
To start…the food and drinks! Norwegian pretty often has a free drink package promotion going and I definitely recommend adding the beverage and dining package to your cruise. So much delicious food to enjoy and what makes for a better vacation than putting your wallet away and allowing someone else to cook and wash dishes for you!! Norwegian offers free style dining so you won’t have a set dining time, but instead are free to visit several restaurants included with the dining plan at whatever time suits you best! The best part is you can order anything and everything off the menu…5 appetizers: sure!, all the desserts: absolutely! *we definitely did this 🤣
