It's almost the weekend, y'all! This we're throwing it back to a relatively new addition to the Dripping Springs Songwriter's Festival: the Young Artists Stage!

This stage was added in 2024 to showcase rising young talents from all over. Since it began it has featured artists such as Grace Humphries, Logan Papp (), Zion Huey (), Emma James (), Georgia Hudson (), Adelaide Ippolotti (), and Cunningham Sisters Music. We can't wait to see who makes the cut for this year's fest!

Texas is a state with music tastes as wide and varied as its landscapes. This series will look at music styles from across the different regions of Texas, including unique regional subgenres and some of the most notable talents from the area.

This week we're looking at East Texas. Houston is the main hub of musical activity in the region and it boasts quite a few local songwriting talents who've gone on to become worldwide superstars. Are you a songwriter from East Texas? If so, we hope these musicians and the sounds of the region inspire you to chase your dreams! The year was 2014. The trending songs included Pharrell Williams' "Happy" and John Legend's "All of Me." Skinny jeans were fashionable. Snapchat and Facebook were still popular apps. The Ice Bucket Challenge had the internet in a chokehold.

And here in our lovely little town, the Dripping Springs Songwriter's Festival was born! That first event set the stage for an annual tradition that has persisted for more than a decade. A tradition where we come together to support songwriters young and old, new and well-known, to showcase the hard work and talent involved in the songwriting industry.

Here's to celebrating the Dripping Springs Songwriter's Festival for decades to come. Mark your calendars for this year's event from October 16th to 18th. We can't wait to see you there!

Go back in time with us to our very first Dripping Springs Songwriter’s Festival in 2014!

What started with just four venues and 30 songwriters has grown to eight venues and 46 songwriters. While the festival has grown, we’ve kept that intimate and collaborative spirit and worked hard to support songwriters young and old, well-known and underground.

We can’t wait to celebrate our 12th year this October 17-19. Make your plans now to come support a diverse array of stellar songwriters this fall!
