Get out there and use your gear! We had a 10 degree day and I used it to practice starting a fire and gathering materials in the snow, then using a ferro rod to start the fire.

This is my go-to way to start a fire pit fire 🔥 sure it takes a little more prep work, but it’s easy from there!
I like stacking the logs vertically like a tower—it lets air flow from the bottom up, catches fast, and builds into a solid burn without a lot of fuss. Simple, efficient, and easy to repeat whether you’re in the backyard or out in the woods.

Sometimes it’s not about fancy fire starters—just good wood placement and letting the fire do its thing.

Lately I’ve been spending more time with the Kansept Flank fixed blade, and it’s the kind of knife that really grows on you the more you carry it. The size is spot-on for everyday use—compact enough to stay out of the way, but still feels solid and confident in hand when it’s time to work.

The ergonomics are excellent, locking your hand in without hot spots, and the blade shape is extremely practical. Whether it’s opening boxes, cutting cord, or handling light outdoor tasks, the Flank just feels purposeful and controlled. This is one of those fixed blades that proves you don’t need something oversized to get reliable performance.

What really stands out to me is how easy it is to actually carry. It disappears on the belt, doesn’t feel bulky, and makes a strong case for fixed blades as part of a real-world EDC setup. Clean design, quality materials, and that solid Kansept fit and finish you expect.
