Job in Merrimack NH. Customer wanted us to install new pre-finished treads to match her existing hickory floors. So we installed hand scraped 1 inch thick treads new risers and scotia. We also installed new solid oak railing and boxed newel post. Which we stained and applied 3 coats of water based polyurethane. Then we installed new square metal balusters that we mortised into the bottom which eliminated the need for the baluster boots. Job we did in Tyngsboro the customer wanted to change up the color of the floors and railings. We sanded the floors and the newel posts, changed the rails and stained with provential. We then added 3 coats of water based polyurethane using HD traffic satin for the final coat . We also upgraded the balusters to simple straight and twists sequence. A lot went into this church in Lowell. They removed a portion of the stage which exposed the old wood along with some major patch work. We fixed patches and then sanded the old wood. To avoid a noticeable line of where we stopped we spent the time ending in a seam of the board or creating a faux line. We then applied Zinsser alcohol based sealer and 2 coats of Bona semi gloss polyurethane. Customer was ecstatic.
