🎨 One simple shape can teach your child more about art than you think!

Did you know that repeating circles, lines, or colors is one of the first steps in understanding patterns in art?

Patterns are an important element of art that helps children develop observation skills, creativity, visual thinking, and an understanding of composition.

✨ And the best part? Your child doesn’t need to know how to draw to get started!

At Art From Zero, I teach kids ages 5–14 the foundations of drawing, painting, color theory, and art history through fun, beginner-friendly art lessons.

🏡 Perfect for homeschool families and young artists learning from home!

🎨 Can you feel art?

The rough bark of a tree, the smooth surface of glass, the softness of fabric… Everything around us has texture!

And texture is one of the 7 elements of art! ✨

At Art From Zero, I help kids discover how artists use everyday observations to create amazing artwork, one element at a time.

💜 Want your child to learn more than just how to draw?

🎨 What is composition in art, and why does it matter?

Composition is how we arrange the elements of art within a space. It’s what helps guide the viewer’s eyes, create balance, and tell a story through artwork.

✨ Even a simple drawing can feel completely different depending on where you place things, their size, and the space around them.

And here’s something parents should know: Composition is a skill kids can learn, not just a natural talent!

At Art From Zero, we help young artists understand the foundations of art, one creative step at a time. 🌈

🎨 Before your child learns to draw, they need to learn how to SEE! 👀

Did you know that almost everything we draw can be broken down into simple shapes?

Here’s a fun activity to try at home! ✂️

Grab some colored paper, cut out different shapes, and challenge your child to create an animal!

This simple exercise helps develop observation, spatial awareness, creativity, and problem-solving skills.

You’re probably using the wrong pencil for your drawings! 👀

Not all graphite pencils work the same way. H pencils make lighter marks, while B pencils help create darker, softer shading.

A small detail that can make a big difference!

Which pencil do you use most? ✏️
