I see it has been since February that I posted and I am trying to shuffle my priorities a little and further craft what the studio will be, so my efforts these days are toward seeking. There are a few students in and out for handwork time, and that is leading me to inquire to myself toward hand stitching. Starting today, Friday at 11 is hand stitching time (and whatever that means to you) and I am exploring....

I opened the door to head to the studio this morning and there were (are) tremendous sheets of water falling from the sky…so can you guess? I am working from home today!! I signed up for a spinning texture class with Bricolage Studios which is today and the next 2 Tuesdays, so thankfully, I can Zoom in from anywhere. Emily always does such a great job teaching…...

We have moved some things around and decided we can stay in the studio another year! I can’t believe it has taken me so long to make this update… I will follow up with a list of other places to find us throughout the year, the first of which will be the Yellow Rose Fiber Fiesta in Seguin, TX on April 25-26....

knittingbuddha studio will be open every Saturday through the end of the year from 12-5. That said, it is with great sadness that I announce that we will be closing the Sawyer Yards studio location at the end of December. I will still be in full studio mode from home and I will still be available for lessons of all kinds by appointment....

I rarely check gauge when knitting a scarf or shawl, and the worst that can happen is I run out of yarn. On that rare occasion, I can usually figure out something to finish with from my stash, and failing that, I can spin a close enough approximation. As I was finishing up the piece inspired by my spring 2024 color themed writing prompts, I was hoping to not run out....

So the knitting is half done, once again. I say again because I was half done and realized that my piece was too wide for the Infinity Scarf of my intentions. That’s right, I ripped it out to start again…30 stitches cast on for six base triangles of five stitches each. Entrelac is my potato chip knitting and I nearly always have some on the needles using my handspun yarn....
