I love that in my live work loft space in Detroit I can view Ambassador Bridge from my windows. Making the decision to create my own identity as an artist and live my life loudly outside of the shadow my my father, brothers, sisters, and friends as co shop owners and artists. After all these years I refuse to shrink myself any longer. I won’t live in fear of domestic violence, emotional and psychological terrorism any longer. Plenty of artists far more skilled than I am but I still do good working class tattoos and will gladly refer clients to artists more skilled and talented than I am if it’s out of my league. All of my clients understand I’m learning and adjust my prices accordingly. Or I simply say “That’s above my skill set.” You should go see ________ cause they specialize in that. Honesty and Integrity are things people do for themselves. Authenticity is the greatest gift you can yourself and the people around you. Paint me crazy, it’s the best artwork ever created with myself as the inspiration. I now feel sorry for all the people who haven’t completely lost their minds, what boring terrified minds they must live.

The best part of my day every day is fu***ng up my ex narcissists day by living succeeding and finding peace and growth in the tattoo industry by continuing to grow as an artist and piercer, in which he had to give up years ago cause he can’t cut it any longer. His failure wasn’t my fault but I became the target of his narcissistic abuse when at 31 he was hired into the tattoo shop I managed at 16 years old. I was his BOSS at nearly half his age and he’s resented me 30 years later for it.
Not looking for pity or sympathy but if you want to support a refugee, underdog, q***r woman, artist, piercer, manufacturer, piercer, law advocate, human rights advocate, former trauma counselor and educator for children who had a heart for working as a FREE GUARDIAN ADLITEM, and alternative dispute resolution arbiter (California state Bar) who used art, music, dance, talk, play, pain, edm, asmr, therapy as a mental health counselor to champion for Black Lives Matter, trans lives matter, q***r kids matter, no child left behind, the 22 project, get them home, no man left behind, wounded warriors, IGY6, widows of war, BACA supporter, biker lives matter, stem research supporter, my father was a black panther who walked mixed and black kids to school and brought them a breakfast and a lunch to take with them, my grandmother who was the VFW president for years and helped advocate for veterans benefits and va home buyers program, my great grandmother one of the earliest combat women marines, my family of Roma, Gypsy, Travelers, Indigenous people all collectively believed in Liberty. Liberty in America. Education and protection of children.
I’ve been blessed to travel this earth. Multiple continents. A multitude of countries. All 50 states. I’m proud to claim Michigan as home setting up my base in Detroit with its rich culture but still pay homage to the maritime marines, the Marine corps, indigenous people spanning back to the 1800s that I had the privilege that my great great grandparents lived long enough to teach me and have a memorable relationships with them through my childhood. To teach me. To guide me. To open doors and make connections with other families.
