International Mock Audition Competition for Tuba

International Mock Audition Competition for Tuba An orchestral excerpt competition for all levels of tuba players from around the world. Information can be found at www.Imactuba.com

The International Mock Audition Competition for Tuba seeks to provide a platform for the worldwide tuba community to be more connected and inclusive. The goal is to approach this through an international mock audition competition adjudicated by a panel of premier orchestral performers from every corner of the world. It is our hope that the open nature of the competition provides access to the IMAC

adjudicators, valuable feedback, and the possibility of earning prizes contributed by our sponsors. A fundamental principle of the International Mock Audition Competition for Tuba is charitable giving. IMAC hopes to use this community and competition to support worthwhile charities.

IMACTUBA, as promised, just donated our remaining proceeds ($1,500) to UNICEF. We specifically chose our donation to be directed to UNICEF's Protect the Children of Ukraine fund.

We had over 200 applicants from 26 countries apply and an international judging committee from 16 countries who donated their time in order to support the competition and this charitable cause. Congrats to all of the participants and to our winner, Stuart Beard.

Thank you to our primary sponsors and to everyone who donated and pitched in.

It's always better to make the world a smaller place.

And lastly, it me. I hope you’ve enjoyed the social media posts! It’s been a gas learning and creating while helping run this thing. I’d like to thank the team and I hope my contributions have been worthwhile. Giant thanks to everyone- judges, sponsors, participants, UNICEF, (not) PayPal, and viewers like you. We’ll see if this turns into anything down the road, but for now, THANKS! - Ben

Justin Worley is the remaining 50% of the brains behind .tuba. This dude does everything. Amazing website? Justin. Hand-crafted emails? Justin. Spreadsheets? Justin. Back when we started planning this, he answered a zoom call on a whim, not knowing what was in it for him. For that, we are grateful. Thanks Justin!

Eric Goode makes up about 50% of the brains of this operation. His insightful ideas are only drowned out by the sound of his ceiling fan in zoom meetings. Eric’s organizational prowess guaranteed a smooth ride these past few months, and we can’t thank him enough for all he brought to this wonderful project. Thanks Eric!

As we wrap up administrative duties, it’s time to meet the mysterious folks behind this whole shebang. If you heard about this competition, it’s probably because of Mike Roylance. Mike did some serious heavy lifting (ask him about PayPal) and this thing would not have gotten off the ground if not for his vision, perseverance, and all-around good-guy radiance. Thanks Mike!
