Stay Studio is our creative space in Downtown Downey operated by Stay Arts. We host weekly art classes for youth and adults, public programs like Paint & Sip and Family Paint Day, and select exhibitions and workshops throughout the year. The studio is a welcoming place for hands-on learning, artistic exploration, and meaningful community connection. Since 2012, it has been a cultural anchor in Southeast LA and a creative home for artists, students, and families alike.

Youth Art Classes at Stay Studio

A spring and summer of making with our incredible students and teaching artists. From painting and drawing to photography and digital art, our studio has been filled with creativity, community, and joy throughout the year. Thank you to every family who continues to trust us with their young artists, and to our teaching artist team for sharing their talent, care, and passion every day.

Now Enrolling! We’re excited to launch our first Summer Adaptive Art Program starting next week 🎨

This three-week program is designed for children, teens, and adults who benefit from adapted instruction and small-group learning. Explore a variety of visual arts projects – including drawing, collage, and photography – in an inclusive studio environment.

• Includes 3 weekly sessions and art materials
• Small class sizes for individualized instruction
• Guidance from professional teaching artists

✅ Regional Center funding accepted

Coming up at Stay Studio! 🎨

There’s so much happening at Stay Studio this summer, and we’re excited to share what we’ve been building.

This month’s lineup is filled with opportunities to learn, connect, and create together for artists of every age and experience level. From our new Paint & Practice workshop series and monthly Paint & Sip to Poesía for the People, Family Paint Day, youth classes, summer camp, and our new Adaptive Art Program, there’s something for everyone.

Thanks to support from the California Arts Council, we were able to provide 68 scholarships for youth classes and camps this summer, making arts education more accessible for local families. This fall, we’re grateful to continue expanding that impact through support from the Los Angeles County Department of Arts & Culture, helping even more young artists participate through our scholarship program.

We’re also launching the pilot of our new Adaptive Art Program, offering small-group classes for children, teens, and adults with disabilities. This summer pilot will help shape a full Adaptive Art schedule launching this fall.

Thank you to everyone who continues to believe in our mission. Every class, workshop, and community gathering helps us build a more creative, connected Southeast Los Angeles.

Youth Art Scholarships are now available for Summer 2026 classes and camps at Stay Studio.

Scholarships may be applied toward one summer camp or one youth art class and are available for qualifying families while funds remain available. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
