If anyone would like a piece of wood from the floor. You can come today until 9pm or tomorrow 12 - 6pm. It will be a donation to the rink and we can accept cash or card. Some boards are burnt, some have the gold or the blue. Almost all of them have nails so please be careful when picking out a board. All of the wood is currently in the rink, but we are also here and can show you where to look.

The time has come to tear out the old floor. It is a bitter sweet moment for us. This floor hold so many memories. We have seen people meet on it, get proposed to on it, get married on it. We have seen people celebrate life and death on it. We have seen friendships start on it. Over time, we have discovered more and more wrong with the old floor. We have had trouble with water, snow, ice, mold, and now dry rot. These things have only done a lot of damage to the ends of the floor where the additions are. It is not even the same wood as the original. The original floor could be saved. But the cost involved was more than putting in a new one in and we must save on costs, the floor has to go.

The good news is: we can use the good parts to make other things in the rink. We are looking at are the practice rink! If there is any left over or not enough for the practice rink, then the skate counter, the snack bar counter even benches and/or tables can be made out of it.
