La Bella And The Beat La Bella and The Beat is a high-energy DJ service bringing epic music, seamless flow, and extraordinary experiences to weddings and events across New England.

I create custom soundtracks for couples who want an incredible party without cheesy gimmicks. WHO IS JAY LA BELLA? Hi, I’m Jay, the heartbeat behind La Bella and The Beat. Weekends for me? They’re all about creating unforgettable moments, celebrating life, and throwing epic parties with some of the best people I’ve ever had the privilege to meet. Music isn’t just what I do—it’s who I am. From the

days of blasting bangers from my boombox in 1st grade (yes, driveway concerts were a thing!) to turning my longstanding side hustle into a full-time career in 2018, I’ve been living the dream of sharing music with others. I’m a versatile mobile DJ based in New Hampshire and serving Maine, Massachusetts, Vermont, and beyond—because let’s face it, great music knows no borders. Whether it’s a private event, wedding, or destination celebration, I’ve been rocking events across New England for over a decade, and I’m here to make your event one for the books. What sets me apart? It’s simple: I believe music is an experience. It’s the soundtrack to your story, and I’m here to craft a mix that’s as unique as you are. Connection is everything. The better I get to know you, the better I can create moments that resonate with you and your crowd to bring your vision to life. If you’re someone who values incredible music, unforgettable vibes, and a DJ who feels more like a friend, then we’re going to make magic together. Let’s make your next event the talk of the town—and have a blast doing it! Let’s create your signature soundtrack.

I never would have dropped this. Neither would you, probably.

SPECIFICALLY the Jennifer Saunders version of “Holding Out for a Hero,” (yes, the one from Shrek 2) wasn’t on any playlist. It came from a conversation a month earlier, a client mentioned some serious fandom, and I took note.

That’s the job most people don’t see. It’s not just reading a room in the moment, it’s remembering the small stuff someone told me at a tasting or on a phone call, then knowing EXACTLY when to use it.

The silver bullets aren’t luck. They’re notes I took months ago that finally had their moment.

I don’t always play proms… 🧐

But when I do, I prefer absolute RAGERS.

Weddings and private events are still my main lane. But hand me a room like this, with any crowd ready to rock, and the job doesn’t change: read it, feed it, and keep it moving.

DM me, let’s talk dates.

Ask ALL the questions!

The future is NOW, and there is no such thing as TMI.

There is a lot to consider when hiring vendors for such a monumental event. Do not rush this process by skipping over the details. You need to ensure the right fit for every concentration. If you don’t have a wedding planner helping you connect the dots, you should look to your venue for guidance, read reviews, and check references. If you were hiring someone to fix a leaky roof, you would want to make sure you’re hiring a trusted professional, right? So why would you spend LESS time investigating your wedding DJ options?

Even though booking entertainment is the arguably “fun part” of planning a wedding, you should never take this decision lightly and ask the right questions.

What are some of the most important answers YOU’RE looking for? 🤔

Setting up in the corner to the right of the fireplace is where every single DJ or band sets up at this venue. It’s the expected spot. It’s also not always the RIGHT spot.

There was a smaller headcount this time with a crowd already planning to spend a fair amount of the event outside…so I moved the whole setup to the dance floor, right in front of the fireplace, instead of beside it.

Better light wash on those ceilings, and suddenly the fireplace isn’t just a background.

It’s part of the show.

Charlie thought I was a NUTBAR for a second.

“DAD, are we even allowed to do that?”

Once we started cooking, he saw why we did it.

Sometimes experience shines in the ability to read a room before the party even fills it. Every layout has a reason behind it.

This is the moment I do this for.

Every single person in that barn moving to the same song at the same time, because the room called for it and the room got it.

After all this time, this is what I’m chasing at every wedding. Not just playing songs…building the moment where everyone forgets to be anywhere else.

Some weddings are loud.

Some are beautiful.

Some are just plain fun.

And every once in a while, you get one that somehow feels like all three at once.

Ashley & Ben’s entire wedding weekend had the kind of energy that felt electric. The dance floor stayed full, people let loose, and somewhere in between glow sticks, cowboy hats, and absolute chaos, there were also these really quiet moments that mattered.

A mother and son dance that clearly meant something. (Annie rocks!)

A room full of people who genuinely showed up for each other.

The kind of night that felt less like a production and more like everyone was simply happy to be there.

That’s usually the REALLY good stuff.

A truly beautiful weekend for some really wonderful people.

The moments people remember most are rarely the ones written into the timeline.

This one was HOT.
By sundown, a lot of folks at the farm had tapped out, cooled off, or called it a night.

And honestly? That’s real life.

But what I love about nights like this is what happens next.

The timeline starts to loosen its grip.
The people who are still there are the ones fully in it.
The couple lets go a little more.
And suddenly the party starts to take on a life of its own.

A few bubbles in the air.
A slightly unhinged pit crew moment.
Some absolute belly laughs.
The right song at the right time.

That’s the stuff people actually remember.

Not perfection.

Just a wedding that felt like them.

That’s always the goal.

If you’re planning a wedding and want a night that feels personal, connected, and wildly alive, I’d love to help build that soundtrack with you.
