Some pottery pieces never found their forever home. A mug without a story. A bowl waiting for a personality. A weird little ceramic creature that simply deserves better. 🥺

Join us for an evening of pottery painting, drinks, snacks, and creative rescue missions! Choose from a collection of bisque-fired ceramics (many of them abandoned, forgotten, and wonderfully unique) and give them a second chance with your own colors, patterns, and imagination. ✨

It's the first day of Summer, and what better way to celebrate than signing your kiddo up for an art class? ☀️🤗🎨

Summer is the perfect time to try something new, make some friends, and get a little messy. And who knows, they may discover their new favorite creative hobby!

We've got a few fun options available:

🖍 Workshop for the tiny artists (Ages 4–6)

Looking for a more immersive artistic experience ? Our Summer Art Camps are still open for registration! Campers spend the week painting, sculpting, creating, exploring new mediums, and showing off their artwork at our end-of-week art show. 🥰

If you've ever been curious about printmaking, this is the class for you! 🤩

This four-week course offers a comprehensive introduction to both relief and intaglio printmaking techniques. Students will learn the basics including carving methods, image transfer, ink application, composition, and printing processes. While working with rubber erasers, linoleum, and drypoint plates, they will build a small collection of finished handmade prints.

Experience the satisfying blend of craftsmanship, experimentation, and surprise that has made printmaking a beloved art form for centuries.

We just unloaded another beautiful glaze fire! 😍 If you were in the Build-a-Board class, your pieces are ready for pick up! Plus, a few pieces from the design class with Lindsay made it in the kiln.

📬 CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS: Wish You Were Here
The Dover Art League is seeking artwork for our upcoming window display!

Inspired by memory, nostalgia, travel, and personal history, this exhibition explores the places, people, and moments that linger in our memories long after they've passed. We're looking for artists to interpret the theme in their own unique way whether through personal experiences, imagined adventures, treasured objects, meaningful places, or stories worth revisiting.

Examples:
✨Paintings inspired by memories, travel, or personal history
✨Photography that captures a place, moment, or feeling
✨Fiber arts, textiles, and handmade works with a story to tell
✨Mixed media, collage, and found-object artwork
✨Ceramics, sculpture, and 3D work
✨Digital art and illustration
✨ & anything else! This call for submissions is open to all mediums.

We especially encourage artists to think beyond traditional summer imagery and explore what Wish You Were Here means to them.

💰 Does it cost anything to submit? Nope, it's free!
🎨 What ages can submit? All ages are welcome!

We are so very excited to introduce the DAL's newest Summer employee - Kierra!! 🎉🤩🥳

Kierra has been volunteering with us for quite a long time now, and we always said that if we could hire her we could. And here we are!! We have always considered her a part of the team, but now it's official. Plus, we get to be her first job. 🥹

Have you reached the point where every windowsill is full and you're starting to eye the ceiling as potential plant real estate? We have a solution! 🌱

Join DAL member artist Charlese Phillips for a macramé plant hanger workshop and learn how to create a beautiful handmade home for your favorite plant. Charlese will guide students through basic knotting techniques while helping you customize your design. She is an amazing artist and also a fantastic teacher, so don't miss this opportunity!

You'll leave with a finished plant hanger, a new creative skill, and most importantly - more room for plants. 😉
