To our fans who are wondering about the start of our 2020-2021 season, here are our thoughts...

Since we need to social distance for the safety of all, we would not be able to rehearse or perform with us all 6 feet apart, let alone try to all position ourselves on a stage or wear our masks while playing.

Many of our orchestra members are in the higher risk group & we want all our people to be safe.

Our audience members are frequently in the higher risk group &, I'm sure, wouldn't want to risk attending. So, our audience would be very small, making it not very cost effective. Plus we'd have to social distance our audience members & between that fact & the fact that our orchestra wouldn't sit properly on stage, your listening experience would be compromised.

So for the above reasons & others, we are going to wait this out & decide in December if we can join each other, once again, in January, rehearsing for our March 2021 classical concert. It saddens us all because we are a close group who enjoy playing together & playing for our supporters. However, we have survived 50+ years &, once we get through this pandemic brought over to us via China, a virus which gives us no option but to change the way we live & work, we plan to play for another 50 years!

To all our supporters, stay safe, stay healthy, & we'll be together soon once again.

Remember that tomorrow's concert is postponed. Will keep you posted!

This post submitted yesterday seems to have been missed somehow. Will post again.

This is to inform you that I have canceled our Spring Classical Concert for this coming Sunday, March 15. As a community orchestra, we must support our community. Performances for our community are of major importance and our way of supporting our area of Kent County. However, with the concern that the coronavirus is spreading so quickly, and our orchestra and audience involve so many people in the high risk category (elderly), we feel it best to be on the safe side and postpone this performance. This is the best way, in this situation, to support our community.

So many of our audience and orchestra members come from areas outside of Dover. Dover is still not involved at the moment, however, we need to protect our community from the possibility that people from other areas can bring possible contaminants into the Dover area. I’m sure you understand my concern. We all must do our part to prevent additional spread of this rapidly spreading virus.

If you have family and/or friends that have purchased tickets or who are season ticket holders, please inform them that their tickets will be honored at a future concert. We will work out how to handle that in the near future, so don’t be concerned about your tickets.

If you have any questions I've neglected to answer, please get in touch (302-492-0353).

Please everyone, stay safe & take proper precautions. We want to see you all at our next concerts!
