My Velcro babies are my favorite part of Visual Arts. The way they stay close, listen with their whole hearts, and jump into creativity makes my teacher soul feel so full.

Watching them take a blank page and turn it into something brave—something theirs—is pure magic. I get to guide them, celebrate them, and cheer for them, and every lesson reminds me why I love this work so much.

My heart feels grateful for each of them. Just look at all these cutie patooties!

Flowers

Third grade created a 3D relief flower collaboration in Visual Art!

Students built depth by adding layered shapes and textured details, then worked as a team to combine everyone’s flowers into one beautiful class artwork.

The finished piece shows lots of creativity—each flower has its own style, color, and personality!

African Animals

First grade Visual Art students created silhouettes using warm colors!

We focused on big shapes, simple contrast, and coloring with feelings—reds, oranges, and yellows to make the artwork look bright and warm.

Each silhouette stands out like a character in a story, and the warm color background brings the scene to life.

Our 2nd grade artists made mermaid tails with cool and warm colors, flowing movement, and sparkling details!

They used curvy lines to show motion, then layered colors to create tails that look bright and shimmering.

We love how each artwork shows a different mermaid personality—calm, bold, or playful—right in the waves!

Juicy Fruits

Students created vibrant fruit paintings with oil pastels in Visual Art!

They used bold color and careful layering to show texture—from smooth, glossy skin to bumpy seeds and juicy details.

Each fruit looks different because every artist added their own patterns, lines, and shading to make it unique.

African Masks

Students created an amazing 3D African mask in Visual Art! Each mask has its own personality, and you can see the depth from the layered shapes, raised details, and bold patterns.

We focused on building structure first, then adding textures and colors to make every mask feel unique and story-ready.

Our 5th graders collaborated to create stunning 3-D glass-inspired sculptures using recycled materials like water bottles and chicken wire! Inspired by the incredible work of artist Dale Chihuly, they explored color schemes, form, and texture while learning about sustainability and teamwork. These vibrant, eco-friendly sculptures showcase creativity and collaboration at its best!
