💙 Investing in Looney’s. Investing in Our Community. 💙
Some of the most exciting progress happening at Looney’s this summer has been made possible by a few extra sets of hardworking hands!
We were fortunate to have Sarah Payne and Anne Payne, students at the University of Alabama, and Tyler Snoddy, a 2026 Winston County High School graduate, spend part of their summer working alongside our renovation crew at Looney’s. 🔨🛠️
These students jumped right in and did an amazing job, helping with the ongoing renovations and improvements throughout the complex. But what makes their work even more meaningful is that these young people chose to spend their summer pouring back into their own community and helping preserve and improve a place that has meant so much to Winston County for generations.
Their summer employment was made possible through funding secured in our latest state grant, along with the generosity of a private donor who provided additional funds toward their salaries. We are incredibly grateful to this donor for recognizing such a unique opportunity—not only to support Looney’s, but also to invest in local young people and give them an opportunity to be part of something that will benefit our entire community.
This is what community investment looks like: preserving our past, providing opportunities today, and building something special for the future. ❤️
Thank you, Sarah, Anne, and Tyler, for your hard work this summer. And thank you to the generous individuals and partners who continue to believe in the potential of Looney’s and the positive impact it can have on Double Springs, Winston County, and beyond.
There’s a lot happening at Looney’s, and we’re just getting started! 🏛️🎶
