💡 Did you know Dothan has a Chess Club?? We meet every Tuesday evening, 6:30-9:00PM, in Downtown Dothan at Mural City Coffee Co. Anyone can join in whether you’re a newbie or an expert at chess! Any age is welcome, so if you want to see if your kids would like chess, bring them! ♟️

Our Dothan Chess Club Meetups is tonight!! 👉 If you’re a new player, advanced player, or enjoy teaching it, Chess Club is perfect for you!! ✨ Also, all ages are welcome! ♟️ If you have a chess set, we encourage you to bring it, but if you don’t, most other players bring their set.

2026–2027 US Chess Women Grant Cycle Now Open!

US Chess is excited to announce a new cycle of grant funding dedicated to supporting programs that educate, retain, and promote women and girls in chess.

Made possible through our valued partnership with the Saint Louis Chess Club, these grants are available to educational nonprofits (501(c)(3)), public schools, and US Chess affiliates with nonprofit status.

Grant Awards: $1,000–$10,000
Application Deadline: August 15, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. CDT

We encourage organizations committed to growing opportunities for women and girls in chess to apply and help strengthen the future of our community.
