🎨Get ready for the 6th Annual Loop Music and Art Festival, happening in the heart of Downtown Dothan, Alabama, on Friday, April 9, 2027, and Saturday, April 10, 2027. 🗓️

💻 Applications will go LIVE on September 1, 2026, via zapplication.com!

🌈 We’re welcoming submissions in the following eight categories:

🖌️2D works (painting, drawing, digital media, etc.)
👩‍🎨Mixed media
🏺Sculpture (ceramic, metal, glass, concrete, etc.)
🧣Fiber
📸Photography
🧺Natural materials (basketweaving, furniture, etc.)

🧑🏾‍💻Feel free to apply in up to three categories; just remember, a separate application for each category is a must! For our talented jewelry artists, please note that we only accept original source material—🚫 no commercial parts!

🐤Early birds catch a discount! For those who apply between September 1 and September 30, 2026, the application fee is $30. ⏰ For regular applicants from October 1 to December 30, 2026, the fee is $40.

🥳 Acceptance notifications will land in your inbox on January 16, 2027.

📆 The Loop Music & Art Festival is on the books!

Mark your calendars. Save the date. Set a reminder. Do what you’ve got to do because you don’t want to miss the good times our artists and musicians are bringing downtown this April 🎉

🎨 Art and Public Places, the City of Dothan, and Live at the Opera are ecstatic to announce the return of the annual Loop Music & Art Festival, which will be a two-day Festival (again) in 2026!

Save the date for Friday, April 9th, and Saturday, April 10th, 2027.

The 6th Annual Loop Music & Art Festival in Downtown Dothan, Alabama, on Saint Andrews at the new Porter Park Amphitheater, from 4 PM to 8 PM on Friday, April 9, 2027, and 11 AM to 8 PM on Saturday, April 10, 2027.

We’re all eagerly looking forward to the 2026 Loop Music and Art Festival musical performance line-up, which will be announced later this year! Festival artists will include demonstrating and exhibiting artists from the region, riding mural tours, and a special temporary art installation on the street.

We’re expecting performances by over seven bands and sixty visual artists. Artist applications will open on September 1, 2026, and close on December 30th, 2026. The Loop is offering an early bird application fee of $30 until October 1st. The regular application fee is $40. To learn more about our artist applications, email [email protected].

Remember, the event is FREE and OPEN to the public. The Loop Music and Art Festival is a special weekend for festival-goers to start an art collection or acquire more art!

🎨 SAVE THE DATE: The Masterpiece Classic — September 12, 2026

We are thrilled to announce The Masterpiece Classic Pickleball Tournament, hosted by the Art in Public Places Junior Board at the brand-new Dothan Pickleball Courts!

This is more than a tournament; it's a fundraiser. All proceeds benefit Junior Board Scholarships and Art in Public Places' Community Investment Pillar, including the mural program that brings original public art to walls and spaces across Dothan.

🎨 Art Outside is back, and this one was truly made by all of us!

This spring at the Loop Music & Art Festival, New Orleans-based and Dothan native ceramic artist Charlie Mabry invited festivalgoers of all ages to hang out and create their own ceramic tiles. The result is something special: ceramic sculptures that embody our community coming together to create.

Every tile is one of a kind. Wildlife, nature, peanuts, footballs — shaped by children and adults, neighbors of all backgrounds, in all shapes and sizes. Side by side, those tiles bridge the creativity of an entire community into a single work built around a theme we love: community unity.

Charlie glazed and fired each piece in his studio, built the structures to hold them, and assembled them all together for everyone to enjoy.

Come find YOUR tile and admire your good work! The newest Art Outside installation debuts at the City of Dothan's America's 250th Celebration on Saturday, July 4th, and stays up in Downtown Dothan through July 31st.

And don't stop there, Charlie will be on site at the APP tent helping lead another community art project. So roll up your sleeves and come make even more art with us. ❤️
