For more than 170 years, the State Fair of Virginia has celebrated the people, traditions, and agricultural heritage that make the Commonwealth the best of Virginia.
This year, we're proud to partner with the Virginia Museum of History & Culture to highlight the rich history of the State Fair of Virginia. Throughout the fair, the museum will present its Give Me Liberty traveling exhibition at The Meadow Event Park, giving fairgoers the opportunity to explore the stories, people, and events that helped shape Virginia.
To celebrate our shared history, we'll be featuring artifacts and photographs from the Virginia Museum of History & Culture's collection, along with a special giveaway in each post.
π Todayβs featured artifact: 1873 Virginia State Agricultural Society Fair Program

This original program outlines the dayβs schedule, with equestrian exhibitions and competitions taking center stage.
