The School of Outrageous Shakespeare, in partnership with the Dorset Players, presents an afternoon of free, outdoor Shakespeare!

July 25th, join performers from the School of Outrageous Shakespeare, directed by Gary Meitrott, and from the "Making the Argument" workshop directed by Meg Kemble, for an afternoon of selected scenes and monologues.

Hosted in the idyllic Riverwalk Park in Manchester Vermont, this show is a celebration of language, the expansiveness of human emotion, and Shakespeare in the natural world.

Performances begin at 4pm, and this event is free to the public. Audience members are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets for comfortable outdoor seating.

Dorset Players Inc. is kicking off our 99th Season with auditions for Steel Magnolias and POTUS: Or, Behind Every Great Du***ss Are Seven Women Trying to Keep Him Alive!

Auditions will be held at The United Church of Dorset
143 Church St., Dorset, VT

Audition Dates:
• Tuesday, July 14 – 6:00 PM
• Saturday, July 18 – 10:00 AM
•Tuesday, July 21 – 6:00 PM

Sides (scene excerpts) will be available prior to auditions by emailing [email protected] and will also be provided at the audition itself. No prepared monologue is required. There are 13 female-presenting roles. Six roles for Steel Magnolias and seven for POTUS. More info can be found on our website www.dorsetplayers.org

Casting Notice: The production team for POTUS is specifically seeking a Black woman, appearing between the ages of 35–65, to portray Margaret, the First Lady. Margaret is a poised, razor-sharp, Ivy League-educated attorney who publicly projects flawless grace while privately harboring profound rage, bitterness, and ambition as she sacrifices her own potential to support her incompetent husband.

Awards season goes on!! Met up with two of our Favorites yesterday! Brooklyn got her award for Favorite Youth Female Role for Hermey in Rudolph Jr. and Dylan picked up his trophy for Stage Managing the favorite Show of the year, Something Rotten!! Congrats! See you back on stage soon!
