Botanical Eco-Photography Procesess: Artist Talk with Visiting Artist Rachel Guardiola MadamVEGA a.k.a Rachel Guardiola
Wednesday, July 8th, 6:30-7:30pm at the Putney Public Library

Rachel Guardiola is an interdisciplinary artist, naturalist, and educator who is a July 2026 artist in residence at In Situ Polyculture Commons (ISPC) in Westminster. She will give an artist talk about her work that merges camera-less photography with ethical foraging and sustainable plant-based gardening practices.

Rachel Guardiola is an interdisciplinary artist, naturalist, and educator with a studio practice that explores the human relationship to wilderness through lens-based technology. Took a little mini pre-summer solstice break from tending the perennials and preparing for our next residency session to have a wonderful dinner together High Street Bliss Farm in Chester!

Nevin and Beth really know how to do a spread- we were too busy eating blistered cabbages and perfectly cooked potatoes and smoked chicken and garden fresh tomato panzanella and Caesar salad to take any pics of the food! 🍷 🍽️ 🧈 🤤 🍅 🍗 🥔 🥗

An incredible Session 1 wrapped up this week! Wow! We are blown away by the investigations, labor, care, curiosity and commitment to craft and community brought by each of our session 1 residents. Paper making. Earth works. Clay digging. Invasives metabolizing. Drawing. Poetry. Fire. Song. Land art. Photography. Collage. Rest. Labor. Swimming. Early summer produce. Wine. Coffee. Cookies. Art!

ISPC Creative Director .cjensen had a blast in St. Albans at the 2026 Vermont Creative Sector Convening - met up with pals from & , joined a collage workshop about shaping an economy that works for us all by , participated in a panel with 8 other residencies about the impact of vermont art residencies throughout the state, and thoroughly loved & presentation on the success and accessibility of implementing sliding scale systems!

In Situ is truly fortunate to be one of many small and mighty residencies in this small and mighty state full of creative folk, passionate communities, and hard-working people who love arts and culture!
