Auditions for the musical 1776 with the Medford Area Community Theatre is just around the corner.
I hear that the casting director is looking for a lot of “founding fathers” so if you’re interested in trying out and can carry a tune this is the play for you . Come on guys! It’s time to show that patriotic spirit. Medford Area Community Theatre

Medford Area Community Theatre wants YOU to audition for 1776!

This summer, the Medford Area Community Theatre is celebrating our nation's 250th anniversary by presenting the musical 1776.

Show dates will be Thursday, June 25th; Friday, June 26th; and Saturday, June 27th.

Auditions will take place Monday, April 20th and Tuesday, April 21st from 6:30 to 8:30pm in the Red and White Theater at Medford Area Senior High. Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script and singing a song that you will learn at auditions. You may prepare a song prior to auditions if you prefer. From Music Theatre International: "1776 puts a human face on the pages of history as we see the men behind the national icons: proud, frightened, uncertain, irritable, charming, often petty and ultimately noble figures, determined to do the right thing for a fledgling nation.

It's the summer of 1776, and the nation is ready to declare independence... if only our founding fathers can agree to do it! 1776 follows John Adams of Massachusetts, Benjamin Franklin of Pennsylvania and Thomas Jefferson of Virginia as they attempt to convince the members of the Second Continental Congress to vote for independence from the shackles of the British monarchy by signing the Declaration of Independence.

1776 is a funny, insightful and compelling drama with a striking score and legendary book."
