Congratulations to this very special DT ALUMNI Not only is this incredible talent a member of the but this past weekend blew audiences away at the New York City Center performing for the one and only who presented two of her most epic works. We are beyond proud of you Richie ! Such an incredible DT MOMENT when life came full circle as Richard once again danced to the songs of Sinatra in Twyla’s Nine Sinatra Songs…… it was more than a decade ago that Richard danced the lead in DT’s very well known Frank Forever Frank . For some, there's a debate about the nature of dance. Is it sport or is it art? For me it is unquestionably an art form - grounded in athleticism for sure - but without doubt serving a purpose that's beyond sport.

Even if you're a competitive dancer, remember that you will always be more compelling on any stage if you're more concerned about the quality and intensity of your training (in both technique and artistry) than the score you'll receive for a very subjective art form.

The lessons you'll learn from a dedication to your growth and a determination to keep improving will be a lifelong gift to yourself, regardless of your career choice.
