Found this little book for water color painting in a watercolor set I’d received for my birthday last year. Perhaps it’s time I start a daily painting habit… I still have yet to find anything that both comforts and simultaneously invigorates my soul quite like painting (especially painting to whatever music/soundtrack fits my current mood).

Presently I’m home sick and while it’s “just a head & chest cold,” sure feels more like death on a stick (at least the first few days and into this morning.)

Hoping and praying my Italian penicillin and plenty of fluids, a little sunshine and fresh air, and lots of rest (mixed with painting, because it requires zero energy, I just let my paints and paintbrush take life and really they do all the work, I’m merely a conduit) are enough to get me right as rain so I can get back to my job on Monday 😵‍💫😬🫠

*WORK IN PROGRESS* My sweet girl is OBSESSED with Taylor Swift and frogs equally. Meanwhile my soul has been feeling brittle and dried out, and I realized that I haven’t been making art nearly as often as I’d like to be. Something I’m determined to remedy.

So tonight I blasted Taylor’s Eras Tour Playlist while I worked on this soon to be water color painting that will eventually be a Christmas present for my favorite girl. (She’d be quick to retort that’s she’s my ONLY daughter, but that’s where I’ll say, well yeah, but NOT my only GIRL… I also have a female feline and seven hens, all mine, all girls, but my daughter is absolutely my most favorite girl in the whole wide world.)

I was enchanted to meet her the day she was born, and it’s been enchanting to watch her grow from infant to toddler, to little sprite of a small child, and now she’s closing in on ten, and I’m just not ready for her to grow up. But I’ll blink and she’ll be running the world, or off on some big adventure, or perhaps quietly building her own bit of paradise on some plot of land that she can call her own.

Wherever life takes her, I know she’ll take it in stride, but I still don’t know how we got so lucky to have such awesome kids as her and her brothers. 💕
