This 127 year old, vintage space - with original detail - has been tastefully remade into a simple but elegant 'black box' theater. Seating for 80 is provided in small groups of two or more around cocktail tables, and there isn't a bad seat in the house - all patrons are within 20 feet of the thrust stage. We seek out the finest artists in northern Illinois - many from the Chicago area - to make s

Coming soon to Dixon Stage Left, sponsored by and in collaboration with PFLAG of The Sauk Valley, Everybody’s Favorite Mothers!

Everybody’s Favorite Mothers is a celebration of unconditional love and unlikely activism started in the summer of 1972 when Jeanne Manford marched in a parade with her gay son. She carried a home-made sign boldly declaring her support – and a new kind of movement was born. Jeanne and her husband Jules went on to co-found a support group for parents, an organization that would eventually become known around the world as PFLAG.

With renovations still in full swing at our new site, we will be presenting this production at The Next Picture Show, June 26th and 27th at 7:30 PM.

Callout to all Swifties! We’re getting into the “end of an era but the start of an age” here at Dixon Stage Left. Our 2026 Season represents our reopening in a new theatre space at 105 S. Peoria in Dixon, a spacious, historic building in downtown Dixon. Although we've completed extensive renovations, it still needs more love and care. To offset these costs, we’re excited to shake it up for our next fundraiser and give a lucky Swiftie a reason to “Shake It Off”! From now until July 12th, tickets are on sale to win an electric guitar — signed by the one and only Taylor Swift! Not a Swiftie but know someone who is? “Speak Now” because this is your chance to gift something absolutely “Enchanted”.

AUDITIONS ARE OPEN —join us in creating a summer full of energy, talent, and community spirit. Auditions are BY APPOINTMENT ONLY, sign up for a slot by visiting the Dixon Stage Left website.

No experience, training, or professional materials required. Be prepared to read from a script. If you came to our season auditions, you may be asked to come in for callbacks, but you DO NOT need to audition again.

Set in the colorful world of Damon Runyon’s mythical New York City, the story follows gambler Nathan Detroit as he scrambles to organize the biggest craps game in town while avoiding the authorities — and his longtime fiancée Adelaide, who’s been waiting fourteen years to get married! Meanwhile, smooth-talking gambler Sky Masterson unexpectedly falls for straight-laced missionary Sarah Brown, leading to a whirlwind adventure from Times Square to Havana and beyond.

Starring in Dixon Stage Left's upcoming two-man show, The Big Bang, Brayden is excited to be back on stage with Stage Left! Brayden was previously seen at Stage Left in The Laramie Project and Julius Caesar. Some of his favorite roles have been The Baker in Into the Woods (PACT), McDoon and others in The Trail to Oregon (Woodlawn), and Lysander in A Midsummer Night’s Dream (PACT). Brayden has been performing since he was 10 years old and has performed in over 35 community theatre productions! “Thanks to my family, theatre family, and friends for all the support over the years!”

Starring in Dixon Stage Left's upcoming two-man show, The Big Bang, Darren Haan is no stranger to the stage. His list of shows includes The Tempest, Sure Thing, Arcadia, A Christmas Carol, The Importance of Being Earnest, and Grandmother's Shiv. Also, he is part of Dixon Stage Left's inaugural improv troupe, The Oxymorons. When not performing, his other hobbies are antagonizing his wife and family. He also enjoys camping, golfing, and home improvement projects. Although golfing is more of an adventure than a hobby, due to searching for the ball. He would like to say that he knows that for everyone you see in amateur theatre, we thank you so much, and we could not do this without you! Please sit back and enjoy the show!
