Simon Sinek, author and motivational speaker, wrote a book called Start With Why. It’s about understanding the reason behind what you do, not just what you do.

So here’s our why at Black Vow Tattoo.

We don’t just tattoo because we love the art. We do it because every tattoo means something to somebody.

Sometimes it’s a memory.
Sometimes it’s a fresh start.
Sometimes it’s honoring someone.
Sometimes it’s a reminder of who you are, what you’ve been through, or where you’re headed.

Our goal is for every person who walks through our door to feel comfortable, respected, and taken care of. We want you to leave with a tattoo you’re proud of, a good experience to remember, and maybe even some new friends along the way.

We’re not here to rush people in and out. We’re here to build something real. Good tattoos, good conversations, good energy, and a place where people feel welcome.

Tattoo Tip #1 from Black Vow Tattoo

Before your tattoo appointment, make sure you are drinking water before the day of your appointment and the day of. Also, try to eat a good meal before you come in.

This helps your body handle the tattoo better, keeps you from feeling lightheaded, shaky, dizzy, or worn out, and helps you sit better during the appointment.

It also helps us on our end. Hydrated skin is easier to work with, helps the ink saturate into the skin better, and can help the healing process go smoother afterward.

Tattooing is still stress on the body, even when you are excited for it. So take care of yourself before you come in. Drink water, eat something solid, and show up ready to sit like a champ.

We also keep snacks and drinks here free of charge when you come in, just in case you need a little something during your appointment.

Your body will thank you. Your artist will thank you. And your tattoo will thank you.
