What better way to spend a family day than at the Mountain Roots Bluegrass Festival with the Kaylees Closet Kids Zone 💚

You cannot have a kids zone without ice cream and of course the parents need their coffee too ☕🍦

We are so excited to welcome this new vendor who is already making quite the name for himself
J&J Coffee and Ice Cream will be joining us and we know they are going to be a big hit

Bring those sweet little youngins out to enjoy the festivities great music family fun and some good old ice cream

May is Foster Care Awareness Month, and we are so blessed right here in Macon County to have Kaylee’s Closet.

This organization is completely dedicated to making sure no foster child goes without. Every child receives a bag filled with items that help them feel loved and give them something to hold onto during a very scary time. Kaylee’s Closet works year round to make sure these children have what they need, whether that is school supplies, clothing, or even warm coats during the winter months.

They do not stop there. They also support kinship placements, where grandparents or family members step in unexpectedly to care for a child. They work hard to make sure those families have what they need to take care of these little ones.

If you know Patty Raby, then you likely know the story behind Kaylee’s Closet. It all started with one precious little girl right here in our community.

These children need our help and support, and there is no better time than now during Foster Care Awareness Month.

At the Mountain Roots Bluegrass Festival, we are proud supporters of Kaylee’s Closet.

Many of our vendors have come together to donate raffle baskets. Dawson, a 14 year old young entrepreneur with Dawson Creek Creations, brought this vision to life. Not only did he create his own raffle basket, but he also offered to build baskets for others who had items to donate but needed help putting them together. We are incredibly proud of this young man.

There will be a dedicated area at the festival for all donated raffle baskets, and from what we have already seen, they are going to be incredible. Be sure to grab your raffle tickets.

If you are donating a basket, you can bring it to the May 12 meet and greet, or drop it off at Heritage Garage Doors anytime between 9 and 4.

We also want to give a huge shout out to Reds Lemonade stand that will be donating 20 % sales to Kaylees closet on May 23 . So be sure and get your lemonade.

We will begin sharing and promoting the baskets on our page as they come in.

We are beyond excited to be part of this effort with Kaylee’s Closet. If you would like to make a donation, please reach out.

We have tried to keep this one quiet but we are ready to say it loud.

Blue Hound Barbeque will be at the Mountain Roots Bluegrass Festival.

This could not be a better fit. Award winning Appalachian style barbecue joining a day that celebrates our mountain traditions. From handmade crafts to jellies and jams, this event is all about the heritage of our beautiful mountains here in Macon County.

Coming to us from Dillard just across the NC line, this is one line you will want to get in early.

If barbecue is not your thing, we will have a wide variety of food trucks so there will be no shortage of great food throughout the day.

So help us share this great news. Let’s blow Facebook up and let everyone know what is happening in Macon County Memorial Day Weekend.
