The end of a chapter has come for the Class of 2026— The last two Legacy Tiles have made it up! 🥹

Shelby Beeman and Abi Parrett have both left such a meaningful impact on our art room, and seeing their tiles become part of our space is incredibly special.

Shelby has one of the biggest heart and pours that warmth into everything she creates. Her artwork is full of color, patterns, happiness, and joy—pieces that naturally inspire the people around her. She has a way of creating art that feels uplifting and inviting, just like she is.

Abi brings determination, precision, and incredible attention to detail into every project she touches. She’s a perfectionist at heart who can clearly see her vision and has the patience and dedication to bring it to life beautifully every single time.

Together, these two young women helped make the art room a place of inspiration, creativity, and kindness. Their openness, talent, and caring hearts have meant so much, and they will truly be missed.

Their legacy tiles will remain as reminders of the creativity and positivity they brought into our studio every single day. ❤️

Art 2-4 students presented their final Passion Projects to the class this week! Students were challenged to create an original artwork that incorporated at least one technique or material explored throughout the school year.

These projects reflected each student’s individual interests, creativity, and growth as artists. From concept development to final presentation, students demonstrated the skills and artistic voice they have built this year. We are proud of the hard work, risk-taking, and creativity showcased in these final pieces!

Art 1 is proud to present their first acrylic paintings!

Students explored color theory through hands-on practice with mixing, tinting, toning, and shading. Beginning with intentionally blurred reference images of fruits and vegetables, they focused on observing and recreating color rather than detail.

To complete their pieces, students refined their work using chalk pencils and paint pens, adding expressive line work and definition. We are excited to see their growth as they continue developing their skills!

Another Legacy Tile is going up! 🎨

This one belongs to Senior, Karissa Grant, who may have joined our school just this year—but you’d never know it by the impact she’s made.

Karissa is independent, optimistic, and just the right kind of quirky. Her artwork reflects that same energy—free, fun, and completely her own. She brings a unique perspective into the studio that keeps things interesting in the best way, and her creativity has been such a refreshing addition to our space.

It’s always special to see a student leave their mark, but Karissa truly made her presence known in a short amount of time. Her Legacy Tile is a perfect reflection of who she is as an artist, and it will be a lasting reminder of the energy and originality she brought with her.

She will absolutely be missed—but her work will continue to make people smile for years to come.

Art 3 has officially wrapped up their Acrylic Painting Collections, and they are incredible 🎨✨

Each student selected a unique theme and created a collection of 3–5 canvases designed to work together as a cohesive body of work. From color choices to subject matter, every piece was thoughtfully planned to complement the others while still standing strong on its own.

Great job, Art 3!

FUNctional Art 🤩

Art 2 wrapped up their Disney-themed miniature mini golf courses on Friday and of course, that meant Monday was game day! ⛳️

Our classroom transformed into an 8-hole course 🕳️, each one designed and built by students using cardboard, papier-mâché, acrylic paint, newspaper, air dry clay, plenty of hot glue, a few odds and ends, and a whole lot of creativity!

Safe to say, this project was a hole-in-one—combining imagination, problem-solving, and just the right amount of friendly competition!

Congrats to Artist Winners as voted on by students🏆

Best Theme: Cars by Taylor Beier and Taven Little Sun

Best Design: WALL-E by Abby Ramsey and Charity Scharabok

Best Playability: The Penguins Documentary by Phoenix Dixon and Karson Williams

Best All-Around Hole: WALL-E by Abby Ramsey and Charity Scharabok

Other Holes: Ratatouille, Tangled, The Princess and the Frog, Luca, and The Nightmare Before Christmas

Great job by all! 👏🏻 👏🏻 👏🏻

🎨 April Artist of the Month 🎨

Please join me in congratulating Tymberlyn Evans as our April Artist of the Month!

Tymberlyn is the definition of quiet dedication. She consistently brings a strong work ethic to the classroom, approaching each project with focus, creativity, and care. Her respectful attitude and willingness to put in the time and effort to grow as an artist truly set her apart.

While she may not always be the loudest in the room, her work speaks volumes. Tymberlyn’s creativity shines through in everything she creates, and it has been a joy to watch her artistic voice develop.

We are so proud of you, Tymberlyn—keep creating and inspiring!

First 2 Legacy Tiles going up!

Seniors: Abbey Gelwick and Alex Baugus

These two young women have been truly amazing in the classroom. Their dedication to their art has been consistent, thoughtful, and inspiring to watch. They take risks, trust their ideas, and put real intention into everything they create.

While they will absolutely be missed in the art room, their creativity won’t be. These legacy tiles will remain as a reminder of their time here, their growth, and the unique voices they brought into the space.

Wishing them all the best as they move forward—you’ve left your mark here in a very real way, and it will be seen for years to come.
