Rehoboth Bay Standup Paddlefest

Rehoboth Bay Standup Paddlefest Taking place on Sunday, July 21, 2013 at 9am. The Rehoboth Bay Standup Paddlefest is an event that covers all levels of stand up paddleboarding.

It is a fun day of racing, food, and festivities on the bay at the Rehoboth Bay Sailing Association. The paddlefest will promote sustainability and proceeds will be donated to the Delaware Center for the Inland Bays to assist wetlands cleanup and preservation efforts. This event will be sanctioned by the World Paddling Association. PFD’s are required while racing. Pre-registration on Eventbrite is

open until noon on Thursday, July 18, 2013. Same-day registration at RBSA will be $10 more. RBSA is easy to find and located on Rt 1 bayside just south of Dewey Beach Delaware. Race packages will be available beginning at at 9:30am and racing start at 11am with a 5 mile ELITE Race and 2.5 mile Recreational Race. The course will be decided on race day based on wind conditions to make it ideal for racers. Weather pending, it will be a flat water race with beach start, buoy turns, and beach finish. It will be great spectators event too. Cash and prizes will be awarded to the top 3 finishers in the ELITE categories and prizes to the Recreational category. Following the morning race will be food, drink, music, and awards. A “luck of the draw” fun team relay race will begin at 1pm. Stand up paddleboards will be provided for any level and age of paddlers to join in. Teams will be decided by a name draw and prizes awarded to the winning teams. To top it off there will be music entertainment and product displays. Bring the entire family for a wonderful day of racing, fun, food, drink and entertainment.
