Paris Bar Detroit is proud to announce artist Michael Hubbard’s solo exhibition “After the Fall I Stay Apart” on view September 9–30.

Opening Reception: Wednesday, Sept. 9th —> 6–10 PM

Closing Film + Performance:
Wednesday, Sept. 30th —> 9 PM

Michael Hubbard is a filmmaker and photographer based in Detroit, who through a hybrid of destructive actions and chance methods emphasizes film as a violent, hythmic material to act upon in the pursuit of a full presence in a moment, which has een lost or never once existed. Hubbard embraces this epitaphic nature of the medium and engages in the dissolution of subject matter to represent the contradictory, visceral, neurotic, and beautiful experience of the non-situated conscious and non-existent, veiled unconscious.

Hubbard has shown work at film festivals including Media City Film Festival in Windsor, the New Voices program at the Ann Arbor Film Festival, and Film Nova ‘24. Hubbard has also showcased at The Scarab Club, Playground, Office Space, in Detroit, Millennium Film in Brooklyn, and most extensively at Detroit’s The Vo**ur Bo****lo, including his first solo exhibition Acts of Dissolution in January 2026.

He received his BFA in Film at Detroit’s College for Creative Studies in 2023 and his MFA at Cranbrook Academy of Art in 2026.
