The proceeds from all paintings I sell in 2023 will be donated to the Innocence Project.

I think I would call my first big art show, the Detroit Artist Bazaar, a success. I sold about 1/2 the inventory I had with me and had tremendous support from friends and family. I also learned a lot for next time! And now, I soak my feet for the day!

I Am an Artist

I am an artist. I have only recently been able to admit that. I guess I thought that if I said it out loud, it would seem like I think I’m good, like I am trained, like I know what I’m doing. The truth is, I have been painting since I was young because I enjoyed it, because I found it relaxing. It was only a few years ago that I ever even thought about showing and selling my art, and that was only because I had so many pieces, they were taking over my apartment...well that, and my friends wanted to buy!

My art is abstract - I paint the way a see something in my “art mind”, not necessarily the way it is. I enjoy painting pieces that people are drawn to, but they may not understand why - they may not even know what the subject is.

If you ask “what is that” you will only get from me “it’s whatever you believe it is.” Not only is beauty in the eye of the beholder, but what I enjoy most about art is that what it is and what it means and how it impacts the viewer, is all about the viewer, not the art.
