Cabaret 313 is pleased to announce the appointment of Maria Duey as our new Executive Director, marking an exciting new chapter as we continue to grow our programming, community partnerships, and impact across Detroit.

Maria brings extensive corporate leadership experience along with a longstanding commitment to Detroit’s arts community, including board service with the Detroit Institute of Arts and Detroit Opera. As a longtime supporter of Cabaret 313, she steps into the role with a deep appreciation for our mission and a passion for expanding both our performances and educational programs.

You're invited to our annual Soireé to celebrate 14 years of Cabaret 313 on Sunday, August 30 at 5 p.m. Connect with fellow cabaret lovers at Ferndale's newest venue, The Seven, as we preview our upcoming 2026–2027 season and enjoy a selection of sumptuous hors d’oeuvres, craft cocktails, and desserts.

There will also be a special performance by acclaimed pianist and vocalist Billy Stritch! A longtime collaborator of Tony Bennett, Stritch brings unforgettable songs and behind-the-scenes stories from his time performing alongside one of America’s greatest musical legends to his new show, My Year with Tony Bennett — Celebrating 100 Years of an Icon.

Admission is included with your 2026–27 Sustainer, Producer, or Stritch Society donation. RSVPs are due Aug. 7th.

To close off an incredible season of master classes, John Pizzarelli met with the Mosaic Youth Theatre after his performance with us back in April. We were lucky enough to have many of the students perform their pre-selected pieces, but John also gave them the opportunity for collaboration, joining them for impromptu songs.

Getting to be in the room where young artists shine is one of the most rewarding parts of our work. We look forward to next season where we will continue to bring professional artists into the classroom.
