🎭 In one week, Shakespeare in Prison returns to Detroit Public Theatre for SIP & Beyond, a powerful celebration of original writing, collaboration, and creative connection across the walls.

Through DPT’s Shakespeare Reclaimed program, Shakespeare in Prison alumni will take the stage to perform original monologues created by ensemble members currently incarcerated at Women’s Huron Valley Correctional Facility, alongside original work from alumni.

SIP & Beyond brings the voices and artistry of currently and formerly incarcerated people to DPT audiences while creating space for reflection, conversation, and connection around incarceration, reentry, love, compassion, and our shared humanity.
