Despite the rain we had a great time during our Mexicantown Mural Tour with students from Hillbrook Middle School all the way from San José California. Led by Liz Bedore and Mary Hodges Visited Suzy from Tamalería Nuevo Leon for a history class, Stopped at La Gloria bakery and ended with a paint party at Corpus Art Detroit Studio. It's so fulfilling to receive such wonderful feedback; "I want to say a HUGE thank you to each and every one of you for being part of our Super Saturday event this past weekend. The engagement, the learning, the EXCITEMENT for learning…all of it was incredible. What a gift to these curious, intelligent, passionate young people in Detroit. We had a wonderful time on a Mural and Art tour in Mexicantown with students from Clarkston Schools. Visited Art and staples of the community like Suzy from Tamalería Nuevo Leon. We had a Folkloric dance demonstration and learned about our wonderful community. Looking forward to a wonderful field trip season!!
