TBT these are a few pieces from my Legacy Series I started in 2022 and 2023, can’t believe it’s been that long. I’m still working on these pieces. I have a few more pieces I want to add to this series to complete that part of my series. This series focuses on my legacy, the legacy my ancestors left behind and how it affects each generation thereafter.

My pieces from my Garden Series I’ve been working on for the past few months. I’m loving seeing my visions coming into fruition, it’s been four years in the making. I’m hoping to complete this series this year. At least the main story behind this series. I have the story behind the pieces but coming up with names is the difficult part for me. 😒🤔🫠☺️

My current piece I’m working on in my garden series. Can you guess where they are? Each painting can tell a story on its own but each painting is a bread crumb to the bigger story. Hope you can enjoy my journey on completing my story and sharing it with everyone. 🙂

This is my new current piece I’m working on for my current series. I’m learning as I’m going, I find it easier to not get lost in all the shapes and areas of the face if I concentrate on the eyes first. 🫠😊

I like to start with shadows of my pieces and blocking in the colors before going back and working on form and detail. It helps when I go back to a piece sometime later.

I’ve been working on my pieces, was sick from the kids for a couple of days and I’ve also been watching rally’s and enjoying VP Harris campaign ☺️💙💙💙.
Can’t wait to vote with my oldest soon it’ll be his first presidential election 😁👏🏽💙

Starting on new paintings and working on my previous paintings. I’m enjoying it here process finally got over the hurdle of the background by watching videos on depth and color values and how to make things look further back with hues, so that helped a lot. ☺️
I’m planning to start on a few new paintings this month and get started on my largest painting this week.
Right now I’m just enjoying the day and the experience of the process.

-Also watching Rachel Maddow, love her show 😊.

TBT ✨ This is my painting “Field of Memories” that’s apart of Garden Series that I did back 2021.

This piece was inspired by my daughter and niece going to a tea party and their faces and body convey their attitudes at the time. They showed up in dresses expecting a tea party only to come to the party and experience a gymnastics tea party instead. lol The lady said they could still jump and play in their dresses and they said no! lol they didn’t wanna mess up their dresses so they left and changed and came back lol. They was expecting a doll tea party so they were pretty disappointed 😔. So the whole garden series started because of this incident. 🫠

I wanted to show how a tea party would have been but also convey how their attitudes probably were at the time of the original tea party.

I was also inspired by my dream and memories I had from my childhood, I put together this piece from theses moments and came together to make this beautiful painting. The setting was inspired by a dream I had of my mother after she passed, we were sitting in a field of flowers on a bench and she just looked happy 💕. The choice of the rustic bench was inspired by my porch railings we had on our porch growing up that my dad would paint every year. There’s some other things and meanings in the painting but all in all I just wanted to convey they’re emotions through this painting.

I’ve included the process of this piece. I believe I took about 6 months to complete, because I kept going back and forth between this painting and the others. This piece was also difficult because I had a hard time getting the proportions right and getting the whole piece together and including my ideas to be cohesive. It was a great experience and I really love this piece.☺️
