The idea roots in living in your own city as if you're on vacation: Staycationing. We will serve our members by creating fun and memorable experiences that give an excuse to see all the things you should, but perhaps never have. We will be your excuse to get out and enjoy those historical, cultural and new aspects of our city. Whether it's a historic tavern, touring an automotive assembly plant,

a picnic on Belle Isle, or drinks on the top of the Renaissance Center, our goal is to provide the best Detroit/Michigan experiences.

SCREAM QUEENS: FINAL CUT

They say the final reel was never supposed to be shown.

This Halloween, Parasol & Q are taking over Orchid Theatre and transforming it into a haunted movie palace for one very strange night. The old screen is flickering again, the projection booth has been left unlocked, and whatever was trapped in the final cut has found its way onto the dance floor.

This is not a movie screening. Youā€™re the cast. The theatre is the set. The party is the picture.

DJs take over the soundtrack while drag performers, GoGo dancers, scream queens, slashers, starlets, monsters, and creatures of the silver screen roam the theatre until the credits roll.

Itā€™s difficult to put into words how proud I am of this community. šŸ’™

Since 2015, Staycation has been dedicated to creating energetic, positive, welcoming ā€” and sometimes a touch naughty ā€” spaces for our community. Ten years later, Iā€™m still amazed by what we continue to create together.

This year, our incredible team of entertainers, behind-the-scenes crew, and venue partners continued to exceed every expectation. Iā€™m so proud of what weā€™ve built, and I canā€™t wait to see what we come up with over the next 10 years.

But the biggest thank you goes to YOU. šŸ„° Every time you show up and support events like Parasol, you make it possible for our community to keep creating diverse, welcoming spaces that make Detroit feel like home.

And we couldnā€™t have asked for a better way to close out the 2026 pool party season: an epic performance by the incredibly talented Detroit Disco Daddies, collaborating with Parasolā€™s own SPF100 dance crew.
