Looking for more performance and learning opportunities in the Metro Detroit area? CYE will be hosting in-person sessions at Orchestra Hall to audition for one of our three jazz ensembles. Bring your instrument to jam with our faculty and experience youth-led jazz at the DSO! Attendees will be able to play their audition with an in-house backing band and meet other prospective students.

ARTISTS KNOW that for a great show to go on, they rely on many more behind-the-scenes workers -- people who run sound boards, raise and lower curtains and do other essential tasks. The 2026 Jazz Goes to College scholarship, co-sponsored by the Detroit Jazz Festival Foundation and I.A.T.S.E. Local 38,💰awards $2,500 to undergrads studying theatrical stagecraft and music technologies.
