What goes into a custom wall build? A lot! This kind of project is always a labor of love and it’s worth it every time.

This spring we built two matching walls with custom decks of playing cards as each guest’s es**rt card (which doubled as a keepsake).

I designed this and the build for this one was made possible with the help from Cara Jo Knapp • Intentional Wedding Invitations and our husbands The S Woodworking Company and no-IG Keith, for a wedding planned by Nicola Wilson - Detroit Wedding Planner .

Can’t show you the inside yet but these envelopes deserved their own moment. They’re oversized, hand calligraphed, and finished off with vintage postage.

This level of detail doesn’t happen by accident. And the tablescape design also doesn’t happen in a vacuum. Guests had already gotten a taste of this before they ever showed up, thanks to the invitation. Their charger, glassware, linens, and florals were grand - and the menu was in lockstep. Stationery is more than just something pretty in the mail - it’s your event branding in action.

A&J got married at home this weekend. They wanted their custom Ketubah to feature their home at sunset, with all of their kids - their top priority. The heading reads “to elevate the family - to uplift the next generation,” as their promise to one another. Honored to be a small part of their special day!

Calligraphy has taken me to some cool places, and each quarter it takes me around Southeastern Michigan to all the locations! I’m the artist here in the Detroit market who’s responsible for the ingredient chalkboards in all the restaurants in our area. When the new menu gets updated, so does the board! These refresh days are always so fun - I love getting to chat with customers and hang with the staff while I work. Also, this audio got me 🥹✨ I’m truly so blessed to call this my job!

M&W had friends who recorded themselves opening their wedding invitations, because they could just tell they were going to be epic. And… yeah, they were. Invitations are the preview of what’s to come on your big day. If you’re planning an incredible event, make sure that first impression really sets the tone!

Congratulations to J&I who got married this weekend! I loved creating these art nouveau inspired invitations for their big day. The letterpress printing gave the whole thing an elegant texture and feeling, but the design and layout felt unexpected and fresh.

It’s taken me a long time to find words about my time at the conference. I still don’t have many, other than “immense gratitude.”

Since returning, I’ve already started implementing some of the tactical aspects of my learning and growth I had while there, thanks in large part to the incredible speakers. Since returning, my creative spark has been reignited, thanks to the incredible setting and thoughtful designs throughout the event. And since returning, I’ve had ongoing conversations with new friends - and a newfound confidence - thanks to everyone I met. 💕

You all made me feel welcome and worthy of a seat at the table, and for that, my gratitude will never be adequately expressed.
