I enjoyed putting this exhibition together with Detroit Public Library - Grand Gesture - Larger works by brilliant artists from Metro- Detroit. While you are on holiday or on break from school or work, stop by Main Library Gallery and take in some art. Exhibition is on display until January 2026.

This exhibition transforms the gallery into an immersive visual experience, where paintings, photographs, and mixed media works command attention through bold color, layered textures, and expansive composition.
Each piece reveals how art can amplify presence, deepen storytelling, and create moments of awe. Together, they invite viewers to step closer, pause, and feel the impact of artistic expression unrestrained by smallness.

Scarab Club Gold Medal Exhibition call for entries is still open for members to submit work to one of the largest (and beautiful) exhibits at Scarab. If you aren't a member, become one and then submit - Deadline is September 19

You all know I love posters, opening September, Paper, Place, Power: The Global Languages of Posters is on display at the The Scarab Club starting Septemer 11. Opening reception on September 12 - if you love posters and prints as I do, please stop by.

I know you have a work of art that is MASSIVE in size and you are looking for a place to display it. Here is the opportunity - GRAND GESTURE

The Detroit Public Library and DMJStudio invites artists to submit work for The Grand Gesture, a group exhibition celebrating the power of large-scale art. We are seeking paintings, photographs, and mixed media works that are at least 40 or more inches on one side—and visually dynamic.

Diptychs, triptychs, and multi-panel works are welcome, as long as the total configuration meets the size requirement.

Submission Deadline: Friday, September 12, 2025
Notification: Friday, September 19, 2025
Drop-off Dates: Thursday, October 2 (10am–6pm) and October 3 (10am–6pm) at Detroit Public Library, Main Library 5201 Woodward).
Exhibition Dates: Tuesday, October 7 –December 30 2025
