The trail takes you past Chapel Falls before reaching that famous pine tree perched above Lake Superior. Go a little farther and you’ll find Chapel Beach, where the shoreline opens up, driftwood lines the sand, and the cliffs look different from every angle.

This is one to give yourself time for. The out-and-back hike to Chapel Rock and Beach is about 6.2 miles, while the full Chapel Loop runs just over 10. Pack water, snacks, and bug spray, and expect a trail that can be sandy or muddy.
