COMING TO DETROIT, MICHIGAN IN 2019...
THE MOTOWN ALUMNI ASSOCIATION UNITY PARK
The Motown Alumni Association and Detroit Residential Alumni organization have come together to create the "Motown Alumni Association Unity Parks". The park is associated with its mother company Unity Parks, LLC. The primary objective of the organization is to improve the esthetic value of Urban Communities around the nation by erecting beautifully manicured leisure parks within disadvantaged areas.
What makes this effort different than other park building endeavour is the material used to create the area, and the purpose of the facility.
We propose to develop an all red brick memorial park, that will be housed into a rod iron & brick fencing, lined with an aura of exotic & traditional roses. Every brick lined within & along the walkway will be engraved and financially supported by donors that purchase from us their own customized brick(s) to be placed on the grounds throughout the facility.
The location proposed is a 150,000 sq ft. residential area that is nestled in the middle of an urban neighborhood, on the grounds that was originally an elementary school; which is now demolished with plush manicured green grass, and taking up a full city block, on the north western side of Detroit in district 9.
But, the grand attraction of the park is the development of:
The Motown Walk Of Fame.
Motown Record Company's biggest stars will receive their own black shiny marble 30"×30" plaque with their name, and a brief history of their career. And when it comes to groups that have changed members periodically, another smaller plaque will be placed adjoining the main star, indicating who is who, and the year of their involvement. Nobody will be left out of the joyous occasion. Furthermore, ceremonies will be held weekly honoring not just the major Motown stars, but the employees, musicians, marketing executives, audio engineers, and producers will all get their just do on the Motown Walk Of Fame.
The park is designed by renowned Romanian/artist/ author Gabriela Orza. She will add her Picasso-esque flare to the esthetics of the park. Much of this European artists technique was garnered in Romania, and perfected in the United States.
There will be 8 - 100' corporate sponsored walls placed strategically throughout the brick layed park, and numerous sitting benches will be placed in various areas of the facility.
The park is not a playground for children to play in, but a historic educational site memorializing the precious values instilled through the body of works at Motown Record Company.
The general consumer can get in on the historic concept by donating the purchase of a brick for a loved one, mother or father, veteran member of their family, relative or children.
An additional feature of the MAAUP is the 250 seat brick amphitheater that will be erected at the opposite end off the park entrance.
A merchandise store will be available for those that need to take home memorabilia and tidbits exclusively sold at the MAAUP Store.
If you need to find a name or brick in the park, we will have an aura of MAA representatives that will be scattered through out the park that can assist you in your search.
The facility will have armed security guards 24/7 for your safety and convenience, and because the facility is a privately owned property, violators of the grounds rules will be swiftly taken care of to restore the peace.
It is estimated that the park will garner over 100,000 engraved bricks, along with over 100 Motown Walk of Fame stars.
Other local Walk of Fame areas will be erected recognizing individuals throughout Detroit. Organization such as the 'Detroit Radio Voices' who represent former and current radio personalities throughout the decades. The DBMA have been giving awards to recipients that have honored the music genes of Soul, Blues / R&B for over 10 years. The Canadian based station CKLW, which was the first major radio station during it's racial era, to play Motown music without prejudice will be recognized also.
One of the most honorable features in the park will be at the entrance of the park with the commissioning of a full bust of Motown's founder Berry Gordy.
Unity Parks, LLC is seriously concerned about the development of the community, and the impact we will make on an entire environment. To stay with the incredible community curb appeal Unity Parks will add to the neighborhood, we are planning for twice a week every month, going from house to house offering to mow the lawns, and trim the yard of every home within a one square block radius! You might ask, how can we afford to do that? Our lawn service people will be available from 9 to 5 everyday tending to weeds flowers, garbage, etc... they will have full time jobs, not a part time job. Interns will be an important part of the teaching process in various areas of the park, and we will offer certificates of completion to the interns for helping with our community services program that will be active year around. Interns will be working throughout the facility from office to groundskeeping. Full time grounds keepers will manage the neighborhood clean up efforts weekly.
UNITY PARKS, LLC will also pay for the paving of the surrounding streets, and 24/7 bonded security guards patrolling of the area!
UNITY PARKS, LLC is not developing only one park. We are expanding throughout the Detroit metro area, one park at a time. The primary goal is not to focus on already developed areas within the city, but to bring a touch of class into areas that have been effected by blight, and the devastating effects of urban depletion through poverty, and economic misfortune
By instilling a respectable facility the neighborhood can be proud of, and a neighborhood that represents the best of American ingenuity, we believe we can change the psychological perspective of an entire environment.
Family reunions can have respectable events in the park, corporation can have outings in a classy setting. Small bands can perform for consumers at the hi tech amphitheater, and the ground will be clean and manicured immaculately. With a cleaning crew and staff representative available the entire time of all events.
The Motown Alumni Association Unity Park will be a seasonal park opening the beginning of April and closing the beginning of November.
Fundraising began November 1, 2018, and will continue until April. The groundbreaking will begin April 15, 2019 Consumers, and corporations can go to UnityParks.com to buy bricks, and or buy a wall space.
We hope you find the program suitable to your liking, and we look forward to working with you as a potential partner or sponsor. We hope to here from you soon.
