FINAL GIRLS

FINAL GIRLS An organization for women filmmakers in Detroit, Michigan. We have monthly discussions, special events and screenings.

Though we represent filmmaking in a wide array of genres, our name is derived from a horror film trope coined by film theorist Carol J. Clover in her 1992 book Men, Women, and Chainsaws: Gender in the Modern Horror Film.

SPECIAL GUEST HOST ALERT! The staff at Rising Voices are so grateful for all the local artists and creatives who have contributed to reaching our Michigan Asian American communities this important election year. We’re honored to include chef, host and creator in our DIY POWER series as he talks about Project 2025, an extremist plan that would have a devastating impact on our AAPI families. Learn more about this dangerous policy plan and share with family and friends. Remember: our knowledge is our power.
