Mercury Industrial Theatre Project

Mercury Industrial Theatre Project A group of experimental theatre artists based out of Brooklyn, NY. MITP's genre can be described as "post-apocalyptic feminist" theatre.

MITP (Mercury Industrial Theatre Project) creates productions or experiments outside of the bonds of the traditional theatre structure. Our first experiment took place in January 2013 with a post-apocalyptic version of "Ivanov" by Anton Chekhov at Wayne State University. MITP strives to provide devised theatre projects that challenge and excite contemporary audiences. The Mercury Theater - http://

Working title "The Reverend Must Die" is based on this painting Judith Slaying Holofernes by Artemisia Gentileschi. Shout out to Taylor Blackham for being our art historian on this one.

Working title "The Reverend Must Die" is in development! I am hoping to bring this play to life in 2019 and therefore solidify MITP as a q***r feminist theatre company. "The Reverend Must Die" takes cues from The Crucible and The Handmaid's Tale. It is based on Saar Hendleman and Terrence Zdunich's American Murder Song. This play is the story of two female lovers who survive the 1693 Salem Witch Trials.
