On this day in 1972, we released two singles that would make history for us. The A-side “How Could I Let You Get Away” and the B-side “I’ll Be Around” would launch a run in the ‘70s that we had with the legendary Thom Bell. While both singles would chart well, “I’ll Be Around” reached #1 on the Billboard R&B Singles chart, #3 on the Pop chart and eventually sold over a million copies. It was the perfect set-up for our self-titled Atlantic Records debut the following year.

Today we celebrate the life and legacy of Pervis Jackson, a founding member of The Spinners and bass vocalist, on his birthday. He would’ve been 88 years old. During his decades of creating and performing with The Spinners, Pervis left behind a career of classic music that would help lead to the group’s 2023 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction. One of his most memorable moments came on “Games People Play” with the iconic “12:45” part. 🎶

Today would've been Henry Fambrough's 88th birthday. A founding member of The Spinners, Henry was part of the group from 1954 all the way up to 2023 when he decided to retire. One of Henry's finest moments was singing on "Ghetto Child," which would be a #4 R&B hit on Billboard. We honor and remember the legacy that Henry Fambrough built during his lifetime. ♥
