As insane as it is giving nearly $300 million to an L.A. billionaire with $55 billion in personal and business wealth to build luxury condos, the Detroit City Council may do just that. As insane as it is taking essential funding from our libraries, schools, special needs children, parks, City and school debt funds and giving to Gores, some on City Council will call it development. In reality it is neighborhood underdevelopment and a 35 year debt legacy!

Let's fight this corrupt irrationality. ON THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 15 AT 9:30 AM WE ARE RALLYING AT THE SPIRIT OF DETROIT STATUE TO EXPRESS OUR INDIGNATION THAT THIS IS EVEN A DISCUSSION. Those who can stay can join together to go to a 10 am meeting of the Planning and Economic Development Committee that will hold final hearings on this subject. Let them hear from us.

This probably will go to the full Council for a vote on Tuesday, February 20. They all need an early signal that we are strongly watching. PLEASE SHARE THIS WITH YOUR LISTS!

Thank you all for supporting another year of the detroit cantastoria festival and to all tour amazing community members who participated, making shows, jumping in shows, helping keep us fed and reminding us that despite what the powers that be do to demoralize us and dehumanize us, our beautiful diverse communities are stronger and more magical and unstoppable than they can ever imagine. Solidarity !

7:30 doors, 8pm show
St. Peter's Episcopal Church
Featuring: a heaping handful of cantastoria and cranky shows made by local artists touching on subject matter from local and national justice issues to love, who ruined grandma's birthday and Little Lord Fauntleroy.

Cantastoria and cranky museum will be open for your perusal.

Cheap art made by participating artists will be on sale.

Refreshments! A and NA drinks!
Suggested donation: $10-20
